Submission deadline:

Sunday, May 10, 2015

The 6th International Workshop on Physics and Computation (PC 2015) will take place at the University of Auckland, New Zealand as a satellite workshop to the 14th International Conference on Unconventional Computation & Natural Computation (UCNC 2015). The workshop will run for two days alongside the UCNC conference between 31 August and 4 September 2015.

This workshop is an interdisciplinary meeting aimed at bringing together researchers from various domains at the intersection of physics and computation. This interdisciplinary area of research covers issues relating to the interface between the theories of computation, computability and information and their application to physical systems, including quantum, biological and relativistic methods of computation.

We welcome extended abstracts and paper submissions for presentation on topics relating to physics and computation. Typical, but not exclusive, topics include:

  • Axiomatisation of physics: completeness, decidability, reduction
  • Church-Turing thesis
  • Dynamical systems: computability, complexity
  • Hypercomputation
  • Novel models of computation
  • Philosophy of physics and computation
  • Quantum computation and information
  • Quantum logics
  • Randomness: quantum, dynamical & physical randomness
  • Molecular computation and reaction-diffusion models
  • Multiple-substrate computation
  • Relativistic computation
  • Theory of measurement: axiomatisation, complexity
