EXPERIMENTAL PHD POSITION: Rydberg atomtronics

This project, in collaboration with IBM Research, will develop algorithms for efficient quantum simulation for plasma and fusion physics problems, and establishing their reliability in real-world quantum computers.

The project is ideal for a student interested in a close interplay of quantum computation and simulation with plasma physics.

Further details on the project and application process can be found at https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/hetsys/themes/continuum/hp2023-15/

starting as soon as possible. The position (75% regular working time) entails a fixed-term con- tract for the duration of a PhD project. The successful applicant will be working on a cooperation project at the connection of Theoretical Physics and Experimental Physics. This position is lim- ited to 3 years (according to the German law “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz“) and includes a teaching responsibility of up to 3 hours per week. The possibility to graduate as a PhD is provided.

A four-year PhD position for EU/UK applicants is available in the Quantum Light and Matter group (https://www.tcd.ie/physics/research/groups/qlamg) at the School of Physics in Trinity College Dublin. The group has a range of interests, including quantum dynamics, open quantum systems, light-matter interactions, and more.

The Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in the School of Physics at Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), China, invites applications for Master, PhD as well as Postdoc candidates. The IQOQI is one of the leading institutes in the research areas related to quantum optics and quantum information science in China.
