Applications are invited for appointment as a Lecturer in Mathematics at NUI Galway. The appointment will be made on the salary scale below the bar and will commence on January 1 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is located within the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics at NUI Galway. The successful applicant for the lectureship will have:

A PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics.
A strong and active research profile that aligns with the research activities of the de Brún Centre for Mathematics which include algebra, topology, geometry and analysis.
The capacity to deliver high quality mathematics teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The duties of the successful candidate will be:

• To contribute to and develop the research activity and output of the School.
• To contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities of the School.
• To engage in the supervision and education of graduate research students.
• To contribute to planning, management and external engagement.

Salary: note:
At Lecturer Below the Bar level

€37,230 to €57,782 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)

(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Below scale in line with current Government pay policy)

(For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply)
