The successful candidate will work as part of the research group led by Jens Eisert at the FU Berlin. For an overview of research activities of the group, see
http://www.physik.fu-berlin.de/en/einrichtungen/ag/ag-eisert/research
We are an active research group with a culture of open discussion, creative interdisciplinary thought and substantial international collaborations.
The position is part of an FQXi funded research network on "Information as Fuel"

and is associated with a new international research unit on "Thermal Machines in the Quantum World"
It is the core aim of the project to contribute to devising a device that can be seen as the first genuine quantum thermal machine, so a machine performing thermodynamic operations for which quantum mechanics is required to understand its very functioning.
All applications should be sent in electronic form to [email protected] with the key word "QuantumThermo2020" in the subject line. Review of the applications will begin after February 20, 2020 and will continue until the positions are filled. Early submissions are appreciated.
