PhD position, NISQ computing for optimisation problems, based in Paris

In this three year PhD position optimisation problems will be tackled with Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) computing. The candidate will share time between the research center of Total SA in Saclay on the outskirts of Paris, France and an academic lab.

Prior experience with quantum computing is crucial, candidates not matching the profile will not be considered. The following profile is desired

- Strong background in quantum computing (crucial)
- A master level degree in computer science or theoretical physics (candidates with an engineering degrees or experimental physics might be considered)
- Strong programming skills, Python preferred
- High level of written and spoken English
- Ability to work in an international surrounding
- Willingness to relocate to the Paris region
