This call for International Postdoctoral Fellowships is sponsored by the Azrieli Foundation for scholars to conduct research in Israel, a country long recognized for outstanding achievements in research and higher education. The Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded without regard to religion, gender, age or ethnicity. Applicants are encouraged to view this highly rewarding and prestigious program at https://azrielifoundation.org/fellows/internationalpostdoctoral/. Application procedures include the need for an Israeli academic sponsor, which we will be pleased to discuss with qualified applicants. The Azrieli program offers very attractive terms for European and Canadian applicants, including generous allowances for research expenses and research-related travel, as well as for accompanying family members.
Ben-Gurion University (~20000 students) is the youngest and fastest growing university in Israel. It is situated in Be’er Sheva in the middle of the Negev desert, a mere hour by train from Tel Aviv and the Mediterranean. The surrounding area includes fascinating desert landscapes with their unique geology, archaeology and wildlife, and a fantastic kaleidoscope of ancient and modern society. For those who love nature and travel, we note that the University is located a short drive from Egypt, Jordan, and Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and the beautiful coral reefs of Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea. During the current period of the COVID crisis, academic research continues at Ben-Gurion University in strict accordance with guidelines from the Israeli Ministry of Health.
Applicants who may not be fully eligible for the Azrieli program are also encouraged to apply, and will be considered for our additional on-going post-doctoral fellowship and Ph.D. studentship programs.
