Have you ever wanted to take part in the development of top photonic quantum technologies which will change our future? Are you eager to work side by side and learn from with the best quantum scientists, space agencies and high-tech companies? Do you want to boost your career in academia or business R&D in Europe and beyond? If your answer is “yes”, you are highly creative and hold a PhD in physics, computer science or mathematics or you will graduate in the next few months, then join our multi-national Quantum Technologies Research Group led by Prof. Magdalena Stobińska at the University of Warsaw. We have now 3 open positions which we plan to fill as soon as possible.
The newly hired postdocs will work in international research project funded by European and Polish bodies (European Commission - QuantERA programme, National Science Center) and will study one of our selected topics:
* Quantum Communication / Cryptography.
* Quantum Photonic Computing / Algorithm Development.
* Quantum Neuromorphic Computing / Machine Learning.
Although the group is primarily theoretical, the topics will be studied in close collaboration with experimentalists, with a possibility of participating in building the proofs of concept. We expect some experience in numerical programming, a high level of scientific output, including publications in good scientific journals, attending conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as participation in attractive outreach activities targeting the general public.
In return, the group offers excellent international collaboration with teams from e.g. the Imperial College London, University of Oxford, University of Vienna, Sorbonne University, University of Padova, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Institute for Quantum Computing / University of Waterloo, European Space Agency, NASA, IBM Research, NTT Basic research Labs and many other entities.
The postdocs will also have opportunity to apply for their own grants or fellowships to develop themselves as scientists. We strongly encourage to build each own’s scientific maturity, supervise PhD students and working towards tenure position / habilitation degree.
Each position guarantees a 36-month full-time employment with possibility of an extension. The employment law guarantees full social security (health insurance, including the spouse and children), pension fund, and other benefits. The start date is a subject for discussion with the PI.
