Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces the opening of a 1+1-year position for a post-doctoral researcher in quantum communication theory with quantum dot sources within an EU-funded project in the quantum communication team led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko within the quantum optics theory group of Prof. Radim Filip. The research will primarily focus on novel quantum key distribution protocols using entangled states with suppressed multi-photon contribution in quantum networks and include international experimental-theoretical collaboration.

The interested applicants shall provide the following documents:
• Structured curriculum vitae;
• List of publications;
• Copy of a PhD diploma;
• Motivation letter specifying the research interests;
• At least two references in the field.

Applicants are expected to possess a PhD degree in a relevant field of study for not longer than 6 years, have at least two first-author publications in journals with IF>2, have previous experience in the development and analysis of quantum communication protocols and be capable of communicating and efficiently writing high-quality scientific papers in English.

Conditions:
• The post-doctoral position is offered for the period of one year the possible extension to another year.
• The gross pay for the post-doctoral position is equivalent to 2200 EUR per month.

The successful candidate will join the dynamic international team at the Department of Optics (http://optics.upol.cz) in the historical town of Olomouc in the picturesque Central Moravia region.
