Two Postdoctoral Positions in Quantum Computation
University of Southern California
There are two postdoctoral positions available in quantum computation at the University of Southern California in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering. The first is intended to work on quantum circuit synthesis and the development of computer aided design (CAD) flows and tools and related software. The second will be in quantum error correction and/or quantum control. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in engineering, physics, computer science, or other related discipline, and have a solid background in this research area. In addition, applicant interested in the quantum CAD postdoc position must have expertise and a track record in CAD and software development.
These two postdocs will be part of a multi-university team conducting basic and applied research on improving the theoretical and practical bounds on the performance of fault-tolerant quantum computation, funded by IARPA. These postdocs will travel from time to time to work with various members of the team, and will also participate in periodic team meetings. They are also expected to help with the preparation of monthly status reports and meeting the project milestones (software deliverables, technical reports, presentations, and so on.) The postdocs will also be affiliated with the Center for Quantum Information Science & Technology at the University of Southern California.
To apply, send a CV, a brief statement of research interests and experience, and a list of three references with contact information, to Annie Yu, University of Southern California, EEB-300, 3740 McClintock Ave, Los Angeles CA 90089 ([email protected]).
