The Polytechnic University of Bari (Italy) is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in quantum information theory.

We welcome applications from motivated candidates with track-record in any area of quantum information theory, including mathematical and foundational aspects, quantum communication theory, quantum cryptography, quantum metrology, quantum computing and machine learning.

The successful candidate will join the Bari Quantum Theory group [ https://www.quantumbari.com ], which is presently composed of faculty members Saverio Pascazio, Paolo Facchi, Marilena Ligabò, Cosmo Lupo, Fabio Deelan Cunden, Francesco Vincenzo Pepe, seven assistant professors, four research fellows, and eight PhD students.

This is a 2-year post (extension subject to funding). The post is funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) through a research project led by prof Cosmo Lupo [ https://cosmolupo.com ]. The main goal of the project is to explore how quantum estimation may enhance astronomic observations.

Net salary: about 1900 €/month
