PhD and PostDoc Positions Announcement
Cavity Electrodynamics for Quantum Cooperative Matter Control
The Chair of Solid State physics at the University of Erlangen is pleased to announce a fully positions in the cutting-edge research project, "Cavity Electrodynamics as a New Route To Control Quantum Cooperative Properties of Matter" (CENTQT).
Project Overview: The CENTQT project focuses on exploring innovative approaches to control quantum cooperative properties of matter. The research aims to leverage light-matter hybridization obtained by embedding quantum materials into resonant optical cavities and resonant drive of cavity modes with ultrashort light pulses to manipulate functionalities in quantum materials.
Research Objectives: The selected candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking advancements in the field, including:
Development of ultrashort laser spectroscopy techniques
Implementation of time-resolved Raman spectroscopy
Collaboration with theoretical groups to establish optimal conditions for controlling metal-insulator transitions and superconducting transitions in charge-ordered systems.
Qualifications: Prospective candidates should possess a strong background in physics, materials science, or a related field. A keen interest in experimental optical and quantum optical techniques, particularly in the realm of ultrashort laser spectroscopy, is highly desirable. The successful applicant will join a dynamic research environment and collaborate closely with both experimental and theoretical teams.
Funding: This Ph.D. position is fully funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, providing a unique opportunity for dedicated researchers to contribute to cutting-edge scientific endeavors.
Application Process: Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications, including a CV, academic transcripts, and a cover letter outlining their research interests and relevant experience. Please send your application to Prof. Daniele Fausti ([email protected]) by January 15th 2024.
Join us on this exciting journey at the intersection of quantum physics, non-linear quantum spectroscopies, and materials science. Be part of a collaborative and innovative research community dedicated to shaping the future of quantum cooperative matter control.
