'''Joint post-doctoral fellowship: Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos of University of Sao Paulo and School of Mathematical Sciences of The University of Nottingham.'''

Applications are invited for a one-year postdoctoral position to work on a joint project between the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos of University of Sao Paulo and the School of Mathematical Sciences of The University of Nottingham.

This full-time post is available from 1 July 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter, and has a fixed-term duration of 12 months.

The successful candidate will work with Dr. Diogo O. Soares-Pinto and Dr. Gerardo Adesso on the project ''"Theory and applications of general quantum correlations for quantum information science"'' funded by the program Science without Borders of the Brazilian founding agency CAPES. The research is aiming to explore the role of noise in quantum dynamical contexts, and the application of nonclassical correlations as resources for noisy quantum technology protocols. Candidates must be confident, organized, have good communication skills and enjoy working with theoreticians and experimentalists. <!--break-->

The fellow will work at the Institute of Physics of Sao Carlos of University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo (Brazil) with the possibility to visit the School of Mathematical Sciences of The University of Nottingham (UK).

Candidates should have a PhD, or equivalent (or be near completion), in mathematics or physics and experience with quantum theory. Knowledge of quantum information theory, nuclear magnetic resonance quantum information processing, and/or open systems evolution is also desirable.

Applications should be sent by email to [email protected] or [email protected] and consist of a cover letter, CV with publications, and a research statement. The name of two academic referees is also requested.
