The NanoQuCo CAM Synergy Grant on New Emerging Scientific Fields (https://www.nanoquco.es) is offering positions for excellent postdoctoral researchers and PhD students to work on the development of quantum technologies, such as quantum computers, sensors and simulators, based on nanophotonic devices.

This is a collaborative project between two groups in Madrid, Spain: the QNanolight group based at IFIMAC/UAM (https://qnanolight.es/) and the QUINFOG group based at the Institute of Fundamental Physics-CSIC (https://quinfog.hbar.es/). We seek motivated and independent researchers to work either at the CSIC group or the IFIMAC/UAM group, starting in 2021. The number and types of positions will depend on the number and quality of applications.

Specific topics within the project include:
-Control of quantum interactions through nanophotonic structures.
-Nanophotonic structures for the generation of complex quantum states of light.
-Development of new quantum computing paradigms with quantum nanophotonics.
-Spectroscopy and metrology with quantum states of light.

The researchers will join two groups who are very active in the fields of nanophotonics and quantum technologies, with a broad network of international collaborators. They will participate in the joint activities of the group, such as seminars, workshops and conferences.

Realistically, candidates may incorporate as early as December (considering the time to fulfill the paperwork and contract). The consortium has not decided on the number of postdoctoral (2 years) and PhD positions (max. 3 years), which will be opened, as this will depend on the number and quality of the applications.

Expressions of interest, including a CV, contact of two references and a motivation letter (specifying the group where they would like to work) should be addressed to [email protected]

The deadline for applications is October 31st 2021.
