We are looking for a highly motivated student to do a PhD at the Quantum Computation Structures Team (QuaCS) at the Laboratoire Méthodes Formelles (LMF) in Paris-Saclay.
The QuaCS Team:
We are an INRIA Project-Team that specialises in various areas of quantum science. These areas include quantum cellular automata and graph rewriting, quantum programming languages such as Lambda calculus and process algebra, quantum reference frames and quantum causal structure. Our primary objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the ultimate limits and implications of information processing through quantum systems, from a range of information-theoretic perspectives.
This position:
The successful candidate will ideally hold a Master's degree in physics or a related field, have a keen interest in the foundations of quantum mechanics and a working knowledge of quantum information theory. The PhD program is expected to have a focus on foundational topics, specifically quantum reference frames and indefinite causal structure. In addition, the student will have the opportunity to participate in other research areas of the QuaCS Team and can pursue collaborative research projects based on their interests.
PhD programs in France are usually funded for 3 years.
How to apply:
We encourage candidates with an excellent academic record to contact Dr. Esteban Castro via email at esteban (dot) castro-ruiz (at) universite-paris-saclay (dot) fr. To formally apply for this PhD position, please include the following documents:
A copy of your CV, including publications (if any)
