PhD Position in Quantum Cryptography (Siegen/Germany)

For the newly established research group on quantum cryptography led by Ramona Wolf at the University of Siegen (Germany), we are looking for a motivated PhD student. Possible research topics include:

  • Security proof techniques for quantum key distribution, in particular those related to quantum steering
  • Quantum random number generation
  • Entropic uncertainty relations and their use in QKD
  • Quantum foundations

Applicants are expected to have

  • a MSc in physics, mathematics, or computer science (or something equivalent)
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • interest in quantum communication and cryptography (in particular mathematical aspects thereof).

While the official start date for this position is flexible, we are ready to accommodate the successful candidate’s schedule. Given that funding is already secured, the selected candidate can commence their research at their earliest convenience.
