PhD Stipends Experimental Ultracold Atoms / Quantum Optics

Job type:

Application deadline:

Monday, October 3, 2016

We are happy to announce the availability of PhD positions at the University of Nottingham in the area of Quantum Technologies / Ultracold Mixtures. We are working on two exciting projects in our lab, one is an atom-photon interface with Caesium atoms based on an atom chip structure, the other one is on ultracold Bose-Fermi mixtures using Lithium-6 and Caesium-133 atoms. LiCs mixtures are extremely interesting for non-equilibrium studies, impurity physics and ultracold molecules. For more information visit http://qomix.weebly.com/.
The PhD program at the University of Nottingham includes postgraduate courses (www.mpags.nottingham.ac.uk/mpags) as well as regular summer schools and workshops. The group is part of the Midlands Ultracold Atom Research Centre (MUARC), which brings together theoretical and experimental researchers from cold atoms, quantum optics, quantum information and condensed matter physics.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with a strong background in quantum physics and a passion for experimental physics. If you would like to work on cutting edge physics in an international research team (consisting of one postdoc and 3 PhD students), please contact [email protected] ASAP. Currently there are international and EU-stipends available.
