Postdoc in quantum cryptography

Job type:

Application deadline:

Sunday, January 5, 2025

The Department of Mathematics at the University of York seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work with Roger Colbeck on the theory of quantum technologies. This is a fixed term position for three years funded by EPSRC’s Integrated Quantum Networks Hub and the appointee will contribute to a work package on quantum protocols. One of the main aims of the post is to investigate the best ways to put device-independent protocols into practice, including quantum random number generation and quantum key distribution, which will involve finding and tuning protocols to real-world conditions. The appointee will be required to interface with an experimental team, ensuring that the ideas developed are directly put into practice.
