POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will concentrate on the design and implementation of a four‐wave mixing lab and subsequent experiments involving high‐dimensional entanglement. This includes the construction of an optical setup used to generate nonclassical light via four‐wave mixing in warm atomic vapor, measuring and validating the quantum nature of the light, and generating non‐Gaussian modes of light. The methods employed and developed will include experimental design and implementation of quantum and nonlinear optics experiments in a laboratory environment making use of both optical engineering techniques and computer simulations to model the experiments. Highly qualified candidates will have significant research and development experience related to both quantum and nonlinear optics experiments, as well as have experience in computer simulation and data analysis in the broadly defined field of quantum information. If more information is required, please contact Prof. Ryan Glasser at [email protected].
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ph.D. in Physics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Three years of experience working with laboratory instrumentation and analysis of experimental data.
3. Experience with experimental quantum optical techniques, lasers, and nonlinear optics.
4. Background involving theoretical and/or experimental quantum information.
5. Capacity to assist in the design of novel experiments involving quantum optics.
6. Ability to conduct research and scholarly activities under limited supervision.
