Postdoctoral Position in Quantum Information Theory, Department of Computer Science, The University of Hong Kong

Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position at QICI Quantum Information and Computation Initiative of the Department of Computer Science, The University of Hong Kong. The start date is flexible.

The successful applicant will work in the research group led by Prof. Ravi Ramanathan in the area of quantum cryptography and quantum foundations, with a focus on the project "Device-Independent Quantum Communication Networks" funded by The University of Hong Kong.The research focus will be to develop new protocols and tools for the development of certified quantum random number generation and key distribution in a device- and semi-device-independent setting. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to interact with the group led by Prof. Giulio Chiribella at QICI, with the newly established HKU-Oxford Joint Laboratory for Quantum Information and Computation, and with theoretical and experimental collaborators from leading research groups overseas.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline before the start date of the position and have a proven record of research in the areas of quantum information science or quantum foundations.
