We are currently offering three attractive three-year postdoctoral research positions to highly motivated and well-qualified researchers who intend to enhance their career in quantum information science (which can also be extended). The successful candidate will work as part of the research group led by Jens Eisert at the FU Berlin. The positions are funded by the German BMBF hardware grant scheme and are connected to a newly established research network on near-term quantum computing within the German excellence initiative as well as the European Quantum Flagship.
We are an extraordinarily active and internationally visible research group with a culture of open discussion, creative interdisciplinary thought and substantial international collaborations, with leading theorists and experimentalists. For an overview of research activities, see this link:

Potential research topics include the following:
- Fermionic quantum information processing: Variational approaches and quantum computational schemes (within FermiQP).
- Quantum systems identification: Randomized benchmarking, shadow estimation, Hamiltonian learning, quantum process tomography (within DAQC).
- Optical quantum information processing: Cluster and fusion based quantum computing (within QPIC) .
Applicants must have demonstrated excellent research accomplishments in the past. Candidates should hold a PhD degree in physics, mathematics or computer science. Interested candidates are invited to submit
- a letter indicating their main research interests.
- A detailed curriculum vitae.
- A list of publications.
- The electronic contact details of three potential referees.
All applications should be sent in electronic form to BOTH [email protected] and [email protected], with the keyword "Postdoc2021" in the subject line.
