As part of a cooperation between PTB and DESY, we are looking to fill the following position for PTB’s Quantum Technology Competence Center (QTZ) and the DESY team (Center for Quantum Technology and Applications):

Postdoctoral researcher in physics, physics didactics or electrical engineering
Remuneration Group 13 TVöD Bund / TV-AVH ○ Three-year fixed term ○ Full-time (39 hours/week)

The employment contract will be concluded with PTB for 1.5 years and with DESY for another 1.5 years. The place of employment for the entire term is Zeuthen, Germany.

Your tasks:
Building on the latest research, you will develop advanced training offerings in close collaboration with a range of participants in a national network of universities, research institutions, industry partnerships, and other groups interested in advanced QT education and training.

Your profile:
- You have completed your university studies (master’s degree or German Diplom) and have a doctor’s degree in physics, physics didactics, electrical engineering or a comparable subject with an overall grade of “very good” or the equivalent for non-German degrees.
- You have excellent knowledge of quantum physics and/or a field of quantum technology.
- You are willing to familiarize yourself with empirical research and evaluation methods.
- You are a strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- You are highly committed and able to perform scientific work in an independent manner.
- You have a very good command of German and English, both spoken and written.
- You are willing to travel for work.
