We are looking for an outstanding applicant with a strong track record for an academic postdoc position with the goal of building hybrid quantum photonic elements. During the last years, quantum optics has received growing attention (including Nobel Prices) for its ability to tailor quantum states in a highly controlled manner. Today, quantum optical systems start to emerge from the lab and start to be ready for real world applications. For these applications it is necessary to be able to build quantum photonic elements. In the offered work, these elements are built from solid-state materials using a nanoassembly approach.
The successful candidate should have a strong background in quantum optics, photonics or nanofabrication. The candidate’s main responsibility will be to conduct quantum optics experiments and fabricate and characterize structures. Further, the candidate should help supervising Ph.D. and Master students as well as contributing to preparation of new research projects and grant proposals.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and should demonstrat
Scientific publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals as the first or corresponding author,
Ability to supervise students,
Ability to attract funding,
Experience relevant for working in quantum technology (quantum optics, photonics, nanofabrication, scanning probe microscopy, etc.)
Interested candidates should provide:
Detailed CV incl. list of publications (with H-index),
Cover letter stating the motivation for applying,
Two reference letters (or name and addresses of two academic or scientific referees).
We offer:
Interesting and dynamic work in an international team,
Modern laboratories and infrastructure
Above-standard salary conditions, motivating rewards,
Possibility of professional development through foreign internships, training and conferences,
Employee benefits (8 weeks of leave, meal vouchers).
