Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces a post-doc position in theory of quantum information processing with photonic continuous variables, funded within EU Quantum Flagship and a national research project. The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The position is in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, announces a post-doc position in theory of free-space quantum communication, funded within a European Space Agency project. The research will be applied to satellite-based quantum key distribution and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The position is in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

A PhD position is available on the enabling technologies for long-distance trust-free QKD networks. This is one of the 15 positions available at the innovative training network QCALL (Quantum Communications for ALL), funded by the EU Marie-Sklodowska Curie Programme. These are very well-funded doctoral positions with annual salaries plus allowance roughly ranging from €52,000-€58,000 in Leeds. You will be employed by the University of Leeds for three years. Your PhD tuition fees will also be waived by the University.

The project will support development of hardware and systems software for the integration of quantum and classical communications in optical networks. This will entail work on and around the interface between quantum key distribution (QKD) technology and high speed optical network transport.

You will preferably have a PhD in a technological / engineering area relevant for telecommunications and / or advanced high speed optical networking. Significant experience in these areas may be considered in lieu of a PhD.
